As I reflect on my day, my fiancé, and my upcoming wedding, I’m struck by the ways that we have grown together. Despite having errands to run and planes to catch, whether we would make it to mass this morning was never a question. It hasn’t been much of a question for nearly a year now.
Being catholic school graduates was one of the first things that we had in common. It led to lighthearted ribbing and trips to high school football games on cold Friday nights. More importantly, though, it led to an understanding of who we were and what we valued.
We continue to work through what it means to be people of faith. We survived marriage mentoring and pre-cana (which was no small feat). Our trip down the aisle at St. Charles 97 days from today will be a significant step towards finding our place in the church and in the world.
